Abstract: Fanzengshanyan and Xiashandong are new cave sites discovered in Guangdong province in the past few years. They belong to the late Paleolithic age. Among the things we found in (?) sites are mammalian fossils, a few chipped stone tools, a piece of human radius, some ash and (?) bones, and shell tools showing the trace of human processing. Nopotsherds and polished stone tools were found there. However, they had already begun to harvest aquatic animals as food. The finding of shell tools will greatly help us to advance the study of the development of forces of production.
